We are interested in how and why genomes change over time. The questions we ask typically focus on the interplay between sexual reproduction and genome evolution: How can two separate sexes be encoded in a largely shared genome? What evolutionary forces shape the evolution of distinct sex chromosomes? How does sexual conflict influence the evolution of genes and gene expression? We tackle these using large scale sequencing datasets in various model and non-model organisms.
