Mitotic and (male) meiotic chromosome movements in animal cells are orchestrated by centriole-based centrosomes. In the Dammermann lab we study the mechanisms underlying the assembly and function of centrosomes using primarily microscopy-based approaches in C. elegans, D. melanogaster and vertebrate cultured cells.
