Simone Köhler

About

The Köhler lab investigates the mechanisms that ensure accurate chromosome pairing, synapsis, and recombination during meiosis, using Caenorhabditis elegans as a model system. We combine genome editing with advanced in situ and in vivo imaging and quantitative image analysis to uncover how recombination is regulated in space and time during meiotic prophase. By developing new tools for high-resolution and real-time imaging, we aim to uncover the mechanisms that ensure accurate recombination and genome stability.
